(Washington, DC) -- Venerable Democratic Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania has died. He had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Arlington, Virginia being treated for complications from gall bladder surgery. He served Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district since 1974. Murtha was a Vietnam War veteran, earning a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts for his service. He was recently an vocal supporter for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq.
